FilmLanguage Signs Paramount Comedy http://www.filmlanguage.ru/paramount-comedy.html http://www.filmlanguage.ru/paramount-comedy.html#comments Thu, 05 Jul 2012 12:00:12 +0000 administrations http://www.filmlanguage.ru/?p=123 ]]>

Bazelevs signs to Paramount Comedy for Russian TV animation series. Viacom International Media Networks is partnering with Russian production house, Bazelevs, on an original, locally produced short form animation. The animated series, Chromosapiens (working title) will be aired exclusively on Paramount Comedy across the whole of Russia this autumn.

The project also includes patent-pending technology FilmLanguage, developed by Bazelevs with the support of Russian non-profit organisation, The Skolkovo Foundation. FilmLanguage will enable users to create their own animated shorts featuring Chromosapiens characters by converting natural language text directly into animation. This platform will be released on Paramount Comedy’s Russian web site and available to fans across the country.

Produced by Bazelevs owner and renowned Russian director and producer Timur Bekmambetov – Abraham Lincoln: The Vampire Hunter; Wanted starring Angelina Jolie; Russia’s biggest grossing comedy franchise Yolki – the 12 x 2 animation is the first made-for-television animation project from Bekmambetov, who has chosen the newly expanded Paramount Comedy for his new project.

Variety: Bekmambetov’s Bazelevs to produce toon series ‘Chromosapiens’ to air on Paramount Comedy in Russia

Chicago Tribune: Bekmambetov’s Bazelevs to produce toon series: ‘Chromosapiens’ to air on Paramount Comedy in Russia

Gigaom: Innovation, made in Russia http://www.filmlanguage.ru/gigaom.html http://www.filmlanguage.ru/gigaom.html#comments Wed, 12 Oct 2011 12:00:09 +0000 administrations http://www.filmlanguage.ru/?p=154 ]]> Gigaom article by Janko Roettgers: Here’s a trend to watch: Innovation, made in Russia.

The last pitch I got was from Bazelevs Innovation, and it was also the most original idea: Bazelevs has built a technology called FilmLanguage that can turn text input into 3-D animation. It was initially built to visualize ideas during the production process of a movie, but the company quickly realized this could be used in a whole range of settings.

What if you sent someone a text message, and the recipient’s phone would turn it into a small animated clip? Or how about helping lawyers and insurances visualize accidents based on witness reports? Bazelevs Innovations Business Development VP Sergei V. Kuzmin told me the company is especially targeting the U.S. for this kind of forensics visualization. “We don’t have the liability industry,” he joked.
